Para muchas familias, sus mascotas se han convertido en un miembro más, por lo tanto, es indiscutible llevarlo de vacaciones con todos los demás. Por esta razón, te contamos algunas de las claves y requisitos para tener en cuenta si deseas viajar con mascotas en avión.
Recuerda que hay ciertos factores mínimos que debes evaluar para que tu mascota tenga un viaje cómodo y seguro.
Antes del viaje
Para no tener contratiempos, es importante que confirmes y planees todo con tiempo. Viajar con mascotas en avión no es difícil, pero puede tomar algunos días realizar todos los trámites, entonces no los dejes para última hora.
En primer lugar, confirma con el Servicio Veterinario Oficial de tu destino (para viajes internacionales) cuáles requisitos sanitarios tiene para el ingreso. Puede exigirte certificado de veterinaria, carné de vacunación con alguna dosis en especial, entre otros.
Cuando tengas clara esta información podrás evaluar si cumples y es viable llevar a tu mascota. Posteriormente, podrás acercarte a la oficina del Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA) que hay en todos los aeropuertos, para que hagan una inspección completa de tu mascota y te expidan el Certificado de Inspección Sanitaria, con el que podrás viajar.
Este documento debe solicitarse dentro de las 24 horas anteriores al vuelo y es obligatorio para tomar cualquier vuelo internacional.
Si el viaje es dentro del país, este certificado no es obligatorio, sin embargo, puedes acudir a esta oficina para tener una última revisión antes de abordar, si tienes alguna duda sobre la salud de tu mascota.
